Barrow Youth Theatre presents an amateur production of Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at Humphrey Perkins Community Centre on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th November.
In Beauty and the Beast, the brainy and beautiful girl Belle yearns to escape her provincial life and her brute of a suitor, Gaston. However, Belle gets more adventure than she wanted when she becomes a captive in the Beast’s enchanted castle. Gaston, the Beast, is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
Dancing flatware, menacing wolves and singing furniture fill the stage with thrills in this beloved fairytale about very different people finding strength in one another and learning how to love.
